In late October 2018, Google launched a series of new domains on the internet to save its users a few seconds of time for a task that we’re all familiar with: creating new Google stuff. Documents, spreadsheets, slideshow presentations or even websites can now be instantly created in your Google Drive space by following a URL.
Previously, users would’ve had to visit Google Drive or the relevant site and choosing the option to create a new file, but now it can be done with a single URL (or a single click if you bookmark these sites):
- Google Docs: docs.new
- Google Sheets: sheets.new
- Google Slides: slides.new
- Google Forms: forms.new
- Google Sites: sites.new
Give it a try! There’s a chance Google will extend this functionality to other services (Drawings, Maps, Gmail) in the near future but for now these are probably the most useful!
