Meeting the Privacy Challenge: FIPPA and G-Suite

The following presentation contains a broad overview of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and how it impacts technology decisions made by public school districts in BC.

The OIPC Lesson Plans for Middle and High School Students

Students rely on their electronic devices, at school and at home. That’s why it’s important that they understand their privacy rights online.

The OIPC, Media Smarts, and Canada’s federal, provincial, and territorial privacy protection authorities collaborated to produce three privacy lesson plans for students. The lesson plans vary in length from one to three hours, and incorporate videos, class discussions, and exercises that introduce students to important privacy principles.

If you are looking for more resources to incorporate privacy education into your curriculum, you can contact us at info@oipc.bc.ca.
